In a previous update, I shared that we were selected for a grant from the NLnet Foundation. We're happy to report that we've completed the grant's milestones. We've created a video below discussing our achievements and updates on our engineer prototype. In addition to the video, we've updated the README of the Glider repository. The README contains information related to the project and a comprehensive primer on e-ink.
I'm happy to announce that I'll be speaking at FOSDEM 2024 and sharing a bit about the work we've been doing at Modos and our next steps.
Thank you to everyone who has completed our community survey and reached out. The response has been overwhelmingly positive; we’ve had over 2,500 people complete our community survey and have learned much about people’s needs and what they want in an e-ink device.
Last week, we introduced the Modos Paper Monitor: an open-hardware standalone portable monitor made for reading and writing, especially for people who need to stare at the display for a long time.
As an open hardware company, we have the opportunity to take you with us on the journey of creating a product from beginning to end, to involve you in the process, make decisions and collaborate together.
This week we’d like to focus on our Paper Monitor’s exterior design and hear from you.
At Modos, our mission is to help you live a healthy life by creating technology that respects your time, attention, and well-being. We are an open-hardware and open-source company, and are building an ecosystem of devices to re-imagine personal computing and build a collective vision of calm, intentional, and humane technology.
Today, we'd like to introduce the Modos Paper Monitor: an open-hardware standalone portable monitor made for reading and writing, especially for people who need to stare at the display for a long time.
